Client Testimonials
Phil Watts, Marketing Manager, Samsung
Our resellers and dealers are tough nuts. Every opportunity they would get we'd be asked 'What are you going to do for me this year? Or this quarter?' We aren't alone of course - every OEM gets that treatment. But we wanted to help them get more leads through better marketing because it would mean they would be pushing our products over our competitors'.
Abstract MRM presented us with a solution which integrates design, data and production. It enables our dealer network to generate personalised direct mailings themselves. It's absolutely ideal for low volumes and the lower budgets of our dealers because the templates are easy to complete.
It now means I can say to my dealers:
- these direct marketing campaigns are proven to work (we promptly drop those that don't)
- you benefit from Samsung sponsored design and volume purchasing agreements with suppliers
- your speed to market from decision to implementation is just a couple of days, where previously weeks would suck momentum out of a project
- Samsung are progressive and will refresh and develop new marketing ideas for you through the site.
In large organisations getting people to do anything new is difficult. But we've improved both marketing content and our process at the dealer level. We now get more results by working in a smarter way.
Dave Bryan, Direct Marketing Manager, Mecca Bingo
Local site marketing campaigns have always been part of our strategy. When we moved artwork production to a central function - to protect our brands - we hadn't counted on the unpredictability of bottle- necks. Operations Managers were frustrated and our support staff worked under great stress every day. We had a marketing process problem and we needed a solution like Abstract MRM to come and solve it. Operations managers are usually ready to criticise any initiative from central departments but in Abstract MRM they saw an opportunity to regain control of a weekly marketing function which is extremely important to the success of their units. By artworking, proofing and planning jobs themselves, their campaigns get ahead of schedule. Before that we just couldn't keep up. By giving them back some work we have now been able to deliver a better service on our other tasks. Brand consistency still improved and our reaction time in local mailing programs is better than ever. We have spent years and plenty of money failing to achieve this with agencies and in-house training.
Abstract MRM has allowed us to work efficiently with our Epiphany CRM system. Our regional users have a complete view of their workflow and at all times there is total transparency in production lead times, mailing schedules and costs. It's been very reliable and is now considered key in our ability to meet customers' needs in very short time frames.
Jo Luck, National Marketing Assistant Manager, Baker Tilly
Baker Tilly National Marketing wanted to retain a greater consistency within their marketing literature and stationery but enable offices to meet the internal deadlines set by partners and those of clients and advertising agencies.
MRM offers peace of mind in providing consistency and guidance on best practice when creating documents.
Business card templates for senior partners and staff, ensure correct titles and contact information are used no matter who orders the card. For speed, the offices can also order multiple business cards at a time. With PDF files going direct to Abstract for production.
To reduce production time, MRM enables Baker Tilly to create their Deal cards, which allows for dual branding for their client logos. Ranges of high-quality themed images are available to compliment the key message within the Deal card.
Offices can place advertisements in local publications within a range of specified size, helping them to respond to tight publishing deadline.
Toni Lepone, Communications Director, Areva SA
Because we operate in 78 countries, communication and consistency comes up over and over again in our marketing activities. So when I first saw an early version of Abstract MRM I knew it could do a great job for us with just a bit of tweaking.
We began with stationery because it's something everyone understands and technically it was the easiest piece of print for us to judge. We rolled it out inside of 4 weeks and were saving money from the onset. This gave us the confidence to trial other products. Exhibition panels have been extensively ordered worldwide along with newsletters and case history sales sheets. But the most money we have saved has been on brochures. We let our country managers decide what to produce but give them and their staff all the tools they need through Abstract MRM. Even something like a 16-page brochure has been produced quite comfortably by our own staff. We have produced over 500 brochures to date using this tool and have saved tens of thousands of Euros in artwork fees. The results are actually more consistent to our brand guidelines than ever before.
Getting the most out of Abstract MRM requires some cultural change and the ability to see a different way of working. But without a doubt it has been worth the effort for Areva.
Elaine West, Director of Marketing, ALSTOM
We use case histories extensively to showcase our major engineering projects for airports, power stations, steel mills and transport. The average time for brochure production used to be 3 months because our people would 'touch' the same document a number of times. We were wasting time and money through chasing colleagues, agency staff and printers.
Our new way of doing things is through Abstract MRM, and our marketing team has really embraced it in both Europe and the United States.
Agency charges have largely been eliminated because we do so much ourselves. Right through our origination chain my colleagues find it far more satisfying to be creating and editing a first-class piece of artwork as opposed to shuffling information back and forth.
Abstract MRM has also become the digital umbrella for our widely spread collection of photographs, technical images and data tables. This has considerably improved the value we get from our visual assets.
We're currently rolling out English templates - with translation into foreign languages taking place locally in each country. The software includes a foreign language spell checker and it also gives us an option to work with our translation agency if necessary.
Abstract MRM has improved the way we work and narrowed the communication gaps which I think are common in a company the size of Alstom and I am pleased to recommend Abstract MRM to others.
